Gürsu Municipality has successfully completed another project in which public, industry and university cooperation was put forward. With the Egologics Young Minds Coding the Future project, young coding minds will be directed to the industry.
The project brought young people together with the industry focusing on sustainability and digital transformation, with the simultaneous contributions of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), Gürsu Municipality and Bursa Universities. Gürsu Municipality, as the local government, took an active role in spreading the project process to the field and ensuring coordination between stakeholders, representing the public.
This structure introduced a holistic model in which young people from universities communicate directly with the industry, producing field-based and applicable outputs. With the support and vision of Bursa's valuable institutions, young people examine the real environmental problems of industrial facilities in the field; He developed innovative and applicable projects, especially focusing on water and carbon footprint. During the project, 300 young people received training in sustainability, digital transformation, artificial intelligence and project development. As a result of the evaluations, 50 young people were entitled to participate in the 3-day Sustainability Project Development Camp and Hackathon process. 20 of the hackathon participants were Bursa Technical University students and 30 were Bursa Uludağ University students.
With the support of BTSO, the closing event and final program of the project was hosted by Bursa Business School BBS (Uludağ Campus). The panel was moderated by Coşkunöz Education Foundation General Manager Bige Tınmazsoy Susuzlu, while Harput Tekstil Chairman of the Board Sadi Etkeser, Beyçelik Holding R&D and Innovation Manager Dr. İmren Öztürk Yılmaz and Trex Digital Chairman İlhan Özdemir shared their experiences regarding the digitalization and green transformation process of the industry as a panelist.
At the end of the hackathon, a total of 60 thousand lira awards were presented to the teams that ranked according to the jury evaluation.
