Zero Hunger

Why it matters

The bigger picture

Hunger and malnutrition directly affect children's development and community productivity. Climate change and conflict increasingly threaten food security.

Sustainable, resilient agricultural systems, support for small-scale producers, and the protection of genetic diversity are key to reducing this risk.

The 2030 Agenda does not treat Zero Hunger in isolation from the other sixteen goals. Progress depends on inclusive policies, reliable data, long-term investment, and cooperation between public institutions, civil society, academia, and the private sector. Connecting local action to measurable outcomes is therefore essential for turning the global framework into lasting change.
