Decent Work and Economic Growth

Why it matters

The bigger picture

Youth unemployment is one of the most significant threats to social and economic stability in many countries. Entrepreneurship, vocational training, and employability skills strengthen young people's participation in the workforce.

Eliminating forced labour and child labour, alongside promoting safe working environments, forms the foundation of decent work.

The 2030 Agenda does not treat Decent Work and Economic Growth in isolation from the other sixteen goals. Progress depends on inclusive policies, reliable data, long-term investment, and cooperation between public institutions, civil society, academia, and the private sector. Connecting local action to measurable outcomes is therefore essential for turning the global framework into lasting change.
